MacTech Live 134: 2012 Predictions, Part 2

In this second part of a two-part series, Josh Long (”the JoshMeister”) shares Apple industry predictions for 2012 from legendary product engineer and programmer Mike Lee, followed by TUAW editor and podcaster Michael Rose, Beatweek senior editor Daynah, and Macworld.com app reviewer and educator Jeff Phillips and co-host Ty Hayes from the (unaffiliated with MacTech Magazine) Mactechedu podcast.

In this episode, our guests discuss everything from patent extortion, continuing integration of iOS and Mac OS X (including possibly running iOS apps on Mac OS X), upcoming competition from Windows 8 tablets, Mac OS X v10.8 “Ocelot,” Apple possibly killing the Mac Pro, to more fun predictions including an iPhone 5 with a 3D camera and a foldable iPad 3.

If you haven’t listened to it yet, don’t miss the first part of our 2012 predictions show, featuring the insights of Ken Ray from the Mac OS Ken podcasts, Katie Floyd from the Mac Power Users podcast, and Victor Agreda Jr., Editor-in-Chief of The Unofficial Apple Weblog.

Finally, if you still can’t get enough Apple predictions, head over to MacNews.com/blog to read the six-part op-ed series by long-time Apple journalist and news editor Dennis Sellers, featuring Dennis’s predictions about the iPhone, iPad, iPod, Apple TV and “iTV”, the Mac laptop, and the Mac desktop.

What do you think will hit the Apple world in 2012? Will Apple kill the Mac Pro? What do you think Apple will talk about at its education announcement this Thursday, January 19th? Call in your thoughts and predictions at +1 (708) 462-2663 or send us a reply on Twitter.
